dc.description.abstract Global warming is the long-term warming of the Earth's surface observed since the pre-industrial era (between 1850 and 1900) due to human activities, primarily the burning of fossil fuels, increase the levels of greenhouse gases (GHGs) in the Earth's atmosphere that trap heat. Burning of fossil fuels for energy electricity, heat, industry, and transport; Deforestation; excessive use of chemical fertilizers; and industrial animal products all increase the concentration of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. en_US
